As people in sales, we are in the job of making and bringing in money.
When this process slows down, it feels like a direct shot at our egos. And it hurts – alot. As in other aspects of our lives, if something was causing us pain, we would do everything in our power to change it. We become motivated and charged up and sometimes a little angry, but that's ok.
All great things and progress comes out of a desire to do better – to push forward. If things were always easy, we would not be challenged to grow and learn and work harder than the day before.
So, when we are done beating ourselves up, feeling frustrated and aggravated with the whole process, take a deep breath, and go back to the basics.
STAY HUNGRY! PUSH HARDER! Reach deep inside to your core and think about what motivates you at the basic level.
Let's compare sales to a Formula 1 race. Yeah, you have guys driving around the same course, attempting to complete a given number of laps. For someone looking in from the outside, this may seem easy. However, we know that it is the individual driver's personal core – his intense drive, motivation, persistence and impeccable team that will ultimately help him reach his goal – the finish line.
WINNERS IN LIFE, AND SALES, ARE PERSISTENT, RELENTLESS AND HAVE PASSION.
The driven sales people, by continually pushing forward, will eventually leave others in the dust. And upon doing so, a deeper level of desire to succeed along with a warranted sense of accomplishment, will be the core force to continue to propel them towards their goals.
It's OK to have an ego, as long as you keep it in check.
It's OK to stand out among the rest.
YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN PATH…YOU DIRECT YOUR LIFE. AND WHEN LIFE THROWS YOU THAT SPEEDBUMP, DRIVE FASTER !!!! Sales are always there…..make sure you stay on course to make sure that you get your sales to the finish line. If sales were easy, everyone would be doing it. Stay on course, and when the going gets tough, re-fuel, and get back on track…..
